It explores the control of the US food supply by a handful of corporations who may be viewed by some at putting profit before consumer health. It also covers the impact which this may be having on levels of obesity, childhood obesity and diabetes in the US.

Farewell message from Kate Barlow, Food & Health Alliance Coordinator

After 4 years of being in post as the Food & Health Alliance Coordinator at NHS Health Scotland I have decided to broaden my career and experience a new challenge. I will be starting a secondment with VSO on 20 Feb. It is a Public Health Educator role within health improvement based in Mongolia for 2 years. I will still be working predominantly in public health nutrition as diet is one of the main contributors to their health issues. And I’m very much looking forward to this new direction within international development. Finally, I’ll still keep in touch as I’ll want to hear all about the food and health activity happening back home in Scotland. See you in 2 years time!
