Support came from multiple and smaller retailers including independent delicatessens and farm shops, food festivals, Farmers’ Markets, food groups, visitor attractions and restaurants who celebrated the Fortnight with a range of activities from promotions and in-store tastings to special events and menus.
The Fortnight was promoted through partner activity with leading Scottish brands using promotion on pack, email and online; traditional PR in print, online and radio as well as social media using Eat Scottish on Facebook www.facebook.com/eatscottish and @ScotFoodFort on Twitter.
Dates for the Fortnight in 2012 have been set as 1st-16th September. There are countless ways to support the Fortnight and it is an excellent promotional tool to be exploited. Participation can be tailored entirely to the needs and activities of your business, including highlighting the local produce used, running special events or promotions.
Contact Sophie Fraser on 0131 335 0952 or sophie.fraser@scotlandfoodanddrink.org for more information and to discuss ways in which you can use the Fortnight to benefit your business or to run a competition on Facebook’s Eat Scottish.
