NDNS 2008 Rolling programme- Scottish boosts

UK data will be collected over 4 years (2008-2012); this Scottish boost collects dietary and nutritional status (blood samples) data for 800 adults and 800 children living in Scotland at an individual level from adults and children from 18 months old.

Physical activity, diet and risk of Alzheimer disease

This 2009 journal article gives the results of a 14 year American cohort study into whether the combination of a Mediterranean-type diet and higher physical activity levels resulted in a lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Both factors have been investigated separately but this is the first study to explore the effects of combining them on the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
