healthyliving award

The healthyliving award launched back in August 2006, gives national recognition to caterers and food service outlets that help their customers to eat healthily when out and about.

To qualify for an award, caterers need to meet a set of key criteria, including a commitment to providing and supporting healthier eating, as demonstrated on the menu selection, food preparation, marketing and promotional activities and the way in which food is presented and sold.

The award is open to most food-serving outlets in Scotland, but specifically places where people go to buy food regularly, such as workplace restaurants, cafes, sandwich shops, further education sites, hospital canteens and restaurants.

By achieving a healthyliving award the business benefits from:

  • National recognition for achieving the award
  • Association with the widely recognised healthyliving brand
  • The support of a marketing and advertising campaign
  • Increased customer satisfaction and
  • Ability to meet growing demand for healthier options

Customers benefit from:

  • Ability to make healthier food choices
  • A clear association between the healthyliving award logo and healthier food choices
  • Confidence that general changes have been made to all the menu to make it healthier, even if they don't choose a healthyliving choice
