Healthyliving award plus

The healthyliving award plus is a higher level of award, which rewards catering establishments that demonstrate an even greater commitment to supporting healthier eating.

The award ceremony in May 2009 saw the official launch of the new healthyliving award plus, which was unveiled by Minister for Public Health and Sport Shona Robison MSP.

This is a higher level of award, which rewards caterers who demonstrate an even greater commitment to supporting healthier eating.

To qualify for the plus award, caterers must increase the proportion of healthy options on their menus from 50 to 70 percent and place a greater emphasis on the marketing and promotion of healthier food choices.

The first establishments to achieve the healthyliving award plus were presented with their certificates at the award ceremony. These award holders are:

  • Café Derran at the Auchterderran Centre, Cardenden
  • Ailsa Courtyard Restaurant at Ailsa Hospital, Ayr
  • Almond Catering at Registers of Scotland, Edinburgh
  • Compass Group at Royal Bank of Scotland, Fettes Row, Edinburgh

To be eligible to apply for the new award, caterers must have held the standard healthyliving award for a full 2-year term, thus demonstrating a clear commitment to supporting healthier eating.
