Food services for older people living in the community in Scotland

With Scotland’s population increasing again after several decades of decline, there is widespread recognition that we are getting older and living longer. The number of people in Scotland of pensionable age is projected to rise from 1.02 million in 2008 to 1.07 million in 2018. It is then projected to rise more rapidly, reaching 1.34 million in 2033. For those over 75, the projected increase is from 0.39 million in 2008 to 0.48 million in 2018. This has significant implications for public services.

Community Food and Health Scotland with Consumer Focus Scotland highlight the services currently available to people while making recommendations on how to improve the services already in place.
