HBSC Briefing Paper 17 - Nutrition and Health among young people in Scotland

Funded by NHS Health Scotland, and conducted by the Child and Adolescent Health Research Unit (University of Edinburgh), the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study is a WHO Collaborative cross-national survey involving over 40 countries in Europe and North America. In Scotland, the 2006 survey was carried out in 300 schools across Scotland, including 6400 pupils from P7, S2 and S4. This most recent briefing paper uses this data to examine nutrition and health among young people in Scotland.

Assisting Dietary Change in Low Income Communities: Assessing the Impact of a Community-based Practical Food Skills Intervention ('CookWell') (2000-2002)

This research developed, implemented and evaluated a transferable, community-based, food-skills programme in Dundee, aimed at increasing consumption of fibre-rich starchy carbohydrates, fish, vegetables and fruit and decreasing the consumption of fat in adults living in low-income areas.
