Throughout the day, delegates were given an opportunity to comment through the use of a picture gallery, designed to act as a chronological journal. An entire wall was covered with cartoons that represented key stepping stones. Delegates were given post it notes and asked to place their comments on the images, saying whether they agreed or disagreed with these stepping stones, thus providing an accessible and non-confrontational way of putting points forward.
Initially delegates commented on the areas of substantial progress in Scottish Diet Action Plan implementation that the Review Panel raised and felt were successful. The majority of these successful areas of implementation that the Review Panel identified were met with agreement, particularly those surrounding the Early Years.
A number of cartoons in the gallery represented food and health work over the past ten years but were not original SDAP recommendations. The gallery also provided delegates with the opportunity to say to what extent certain aspects had contributed to success.
Finally, the gallery gave delegates the chance to portray their visions for the future.
