FORESIGHT Tackling Obesities: Future Choices

The unique modelling and systems mapping in this report indicates that the solution to obesity is not restricted to individuals, by simply eating less and being more active. This report indicates that tackling obesity will require a cross-cutting approach. It is a major step forward in understanding the complex nature of this problem and how to approach it.

The Foresight project states that their work doesn't end with the launch of this report. Many organisations have agreed to follow up actions and have committed themselves to engaging with and disseminating the findings.

The project's One Year Review in autumn 2008 will be to take stock of progress. The outcomes from the commitments in Follow up actions document will form part of a progress report.
