The Scottish Crop Research Institute has launched its new-look website: www.scri.ac.uk.
SCRI's research includes the growth of plants and how they respond to pests, pathogens and the environment. From this research, SCRI aim to create environmentally friendly and sustainable ways of protecting crops from pests, diseases and weeds.
The website provides an insight into SCRI's plant research. There is also information about current developments and their science research programmes, including Health and Nutrition.
Users can register on the website and receive email bulletins and comment on news items.
There is also a new 'Browse by Audience' function, which allows users to find the content most relevant to them. Categories available are: farmer, general public, researcher, scientist, staff, student and teacher.
SCRI is an amalgamation of the Scottish Horticultural Research Institute (SHRI) and the Scottish Plant Breeding Station (SPBS) in February 1981.
