The Scottish Food Advisory Committee is looking for two members to join the Committee in March 2008.
The Committee is appointed by Scottish Ministers to act as an independent advisory body to the Food Standards Agency. The Food Standards Agency ensures high standards of food safety and is accountable to Scottish Ministers. The Scottish Food Advisory Committee offers information and advice to the Agency, working in the food safety and nutrition areas.
The new role will take up 2/3 days a month, including Committee meetings. The meetings are held in public throughout Scotland. There will be an allowance of £5,225 a year, which is non-pensionable.
