Attitudes to Learning within the BME Communities Conference

Learn direct Scotland and The Black and Ethnic Minorities Infrastructure in Scotland (BEMIS) will be launching a joint research at this event.

It is aimed at both BME and mainstream intermediary organisations and will include keynote speakers and interactive workshops on the subjects of learning, careers guidance, employability and capacity building.

This event is free and is aimed at finding real and practical solutions to improving engagement with BME communities.

Dietary surveillance and monitoring meeting

The Food Standards Agency Scotland are holding a one day review meeting on dietary surveillance in Scotland.

There will be presentations on the results of recently completed projects and those which are currently underway in this area.

Participatory Appraisal: Training for Trainers Course
17-19 September 2008
Stirling
A non-residential course aimed at those whose primary focus is increasing participation and who do some training and those whose primary focus is training and want to work on improving participation.

The training involves an initial training event over three days in September 2008 and second event on 11-12 December 2008. There will be follow up and mentoring support after the workshop sessions.

Health Behaviour Change: Training for Trainers Course

This three-day course is aimed at experienced Health Behaviour Change (HBC) practitioners who have a role to train others and can evidence an underpinning knowledge of Health Behaviour Change approaches. Experienced trainers who are able to work with HBC practitioners to deliver course are also welcome to apply.
