A report of work on food portion sizes Exploration of Adult Food Portion Size Tools (2008) commissioned by NHS Health Scotland with Food Standards Agency Scotland and Scottish Nutrition and Diet Resources Initiative (SNDRí) is now available.
The findings from the research will be used to inform the development of a portion size resource by SNDRí for health professionals to use with clients.
In addition, the information and recommendations in the report will contribute to ongoing discussions led by Food Standards Agency UK in London on portion size information for consumers.
NHS Health Scotland will continue to work closely with partners in relation to the potential benefits to be gained from providing more portion size information for consumers.
