As you will know, Glasgow will be hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
The Scottish Government is conducting a series of public meetings to discuss the potential lasting legacy from these Games for the whole of Scotland.
The Government would be delighted if you or members of your organisation could join one of these meetings, to share your thoughts on what you would like to see as a lasting legacy from the Games.
It has currently arranged meetings as follows:
Further events are planned in Glasgow, Inverness, Portree, Falkirk, Aberdeen, Oban, Dumfries, Melrose, Kirkwall and Helensburgh. Details of these will be publicised once dates and venues are confirmed.
At each of these meetings, there will be a presentation about the development of a Commonwealth Games legacy from the Government, followed by a discussion session. We would very much value your input into this session.
Places are limited but if you would like to attend please call Claire McKenna on tel: 0131 244 0993 or email: Claire McKenna
The Government will publish an interim action plan towards the end of this year and a Games Legacy Plan in summer 2009.
Your input will help to shape this legacy plan so that your own individual area can benefit from the opportunities that the games will provide.
