Steering Group

A Food & Health Alliance (FHA) Steering Group was established in Spring 2006.

The role of the FHA Steering Group is:

To provide guidance for the development of FHA at a strategic level
To ensure that FHA is a permanent and continually expanding network which fulfils its objectives.

More specifically, it is envisaged that the FHA Steering Group will:

Be responsible for the strategic direction of the Scottish Food & Health Alliance (FHA)
Be aware of the Scottish Diet Action Plan, as well as current food and health policies and the current Scottish Food and Health Council action plans
Advise on information and research needs
Monitor and shape the development of FHA
Recommend improvements.

The FHA Steering Group is comprised of representatives from a broad spectrum of food and health stakeholders and policy areas: the Scottish Government, Food Standards Agency Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and appointed key experts from the local authority catering sector (via APSE), NHS, primary producers, the food industry and community sector.

This membership will ensure that the main sectors which comprise FHA have a key role in determining its development and strategic direction.
